NTT Anode Energy Corporation
Launch of “Electric Power Data Visualization and Utilization Solution” to Support Corporate Carbon Neutrality
Promotion of reduction of CO2 emissions using digital data related to electricity
・NTT Anode Energy Co., Ltd. (hereafter, NTT Anode Energy*1) will start providing solutions that support the reduction of CO2 emissions from electricity usage in order to promote carbon neutrality.
・This solution achieves the following.
1. Business process outsourcing (BPO) of indirect work related to customer’s electricity contract (various procedures, acquisition of digital data such as electricity consumption and input to
visualization DB), CO2 emissions associated with electricity use, electricity Visualization of usage and electricity charges
2. Utilizing the digital data accumulated above, we support specific implementation measures to reduce CO2 emissions, such as proposing additional off-site PPAs*2.
In May 2023, NTT Anode Energy will start providing companies with visualization and utilization support solutions for electric power data, etc.*3, in order to promote the reduction of CO2 emissions associated with electric power usage toward carbon neutrality in 2050. I was.
Background of solution provision
Reducing CO2 emissions associated with electricity consumption is an important initiative to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050, as advocated by the Japanese government. In particular, companies with multiple bases across the country and multiple power contracts find it difficult to collect and aggregate digital data related to power, and struggle to timely ascertain the amount of power used in their business activities. As a result, energy conservation (energy saving) efforts to reduce CO2 emissions and cost estimates for introducing renewable energy have become issues. For this reason, in order to reduce CO2 emissions associated with their own electricity use, each company should create a system that can visualize power consumption in a timely manner, and reduce CO2 emissions based on individual usage conditions. It is necessary to consider and apply the means. Solution overview
This solution provides companies with a large amount of CO2 emissions from electricity use in their business activities and having trouble collecting electricity contracts. Visualize your electricity bills in a timely manner. Furthermore, by utilizing the accumulated digital data and proposing additional off-site PPAs and implementation measures such as energy saving, we support the planned carbon neutrality of companies.
-Solution Features-
1. Visualization of CO2 emissions, power consumption, and electricity charges associated with BPO of indirect operations related to customer’s power contract and electricity usage , obtained from the website of the electric power company, etc. where the actual electricity charges can be confirmed) and input to the visualization DB as BPO by NTT Anode Energy. As a result, customers will be able to view monthly CO2 emissions, electricity consumption, and electricity charges in a timely manner from the visualization DB. ※Four
2. Implementation support for reducing CO2 emissions Utilizing the data in the visualization database, NTT Anode Energy will customize implementation measures for reducing CO2 emissions such as off-site PPA and energy saving according to customer needs. I would like to suggest This allows customers to systematically reduce their CO2 emissions.
Regarding the visualization function of this solution, as a platform development partner, boost Sustainability Cloud (booost GX) has been developed, and boost technologies Co., Ltd. *5, which has the know-how to visualize CO2 emissions and manage electricity charges, etc., operates a BPO center. We have received cooperation from PERSOL PROCESS & TECHNOLOGY CO., LTD.*6, which has a high level of expertise in technology utilization and the electric power industry.

Future prospects
The solution to be provided this time will visualize CO2 emissions and power consumption (kWh/month), etc. from the company’s electricity usage.・We will contribute to the realization of carbon neutrality for society as a whole by working on the utilization of demand response*7. [note]
*1 NTT Anode Energy Corporation Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo President: Teruyuki Kishimoto
*2 Off-site PPA (Power Purchase Agreement): An abbreviation for off-site corporate power purchase agreement, which is a model in which power is transmitted from remote power generation facilities to consumers via the power transmission and distribution network of a general power transmission and distribution company. In addition to reducing external impacts such as fuel costs, electricity charges can be fixed over the medium to long term, which has the effect of hedging the risk of electricity purchase price fluctuations.
*3 The NTT Group includes Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation, Nippon Telegraph and Telephone East Corporation, Nippon Telegraph and Telephone West Corporation, NTT DoCoMo, Inc., NTT Communications Corporation, NTT Comware Corporation, and NTT Corporation. Provided to 8 companies of T Data and NTT Anode Energy Corporation.
*4 At the initial solution provision stage, the scope is the electricity supply and demand contract with the electric power company, and the electricity charges, consumption, etc. included in the real estate lease contract, such as when tenants are occupied, are not covered. In the future, we will proceed with measures regarding the electricity charges.
*5 booost technologies Co., Ltd. Headquarters: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo Representative Director: Hironori Aoi The company will be an investee of NTT DoCoMo Ventures, Inc., the corporate venture capital of the NTT Group.
*6 Persol Process & Technology Co., Ltd. Headquarters: Koto-ku, Tokyo; President: Kazuyuki Ichimura
*7 Demand response (DR): A change in the power demand pattern by the owner of the energy resource on the consumer side or a third party controlling the energy resource.
