This work is based on the costumes for Taiwan’s ethnic parade “Yi Zhen”, the costumes for Taiwanese festivals, the folktales of Southeast Asian mouse deer tricking crocodiles into crossing rivers, and similar stories from various countries. , featuring half-human, half-mouse and half-fox shaman dancers. As if looking at the world through the compound eyes of a fly, this work presents interconnected stories from different countries at the same time. It presents connections between allegorical experiences and local allegorical experiences.

Zhang Xu Exhibition
Born in 1988 in Taipei City, Taipei National University of Arts New Media Art Master’s degree. His birthplace is a 100-year-old paper craft shop that produces elaborate crafts such as paper sculptures, animals, and houses for religious ceremonies and funerals. Jan has been active internationally, producing paper-crafted animations, hand-drawn animations, digital images, experimental films, films, and multi-channel video installations.
