Mr. Hideo Furukawa, a writer from Koriyama City and the original author of the Golden Globe and Annie Award nominated animation movie “Inuoh”, has been appointed as Koriyama City Frontier Ambassador.

1966 Born in Koriyama City Graduated from Asaka High School, Dropped out of Waseda University First Literature Department 1998 Debuted with novel “13” 2011 Started reading drama “Ginga Tetsudo no Yoru” project, which he wrote and directed himself 2013-2015 In the city 2014 Wrote a play “Sleep with a hibernating bear” (directed by Yukio Ninagawa), a workshop on the theme of words and expressions 2022 Kooriyama Literature Museum Literary Lecture Meeting “Heike Monogatari for One Million People”
Awards received
2002 Received the Japan Mystery Writers Association Award and Japan Science Fiction Grand Prize for “Arabian Night Races” 2006 Yukio Mishima Award for “LOVE” Received double literary awards 2023 The animated film “Inuoh” based on the novel “Heike Monogatari Inuoh no Maki” was nominated for the Golden Globe Award and Annie Award. Also won the Japan Academy Award for Outstanding Animated Feature Film.
