[At-Home Survey] Rent Trends for “Rental Apartments/Apartments” Offered in Major Cities Nationwide (June 2023)

At Home Lab Co., Ltd. (Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President: Yoshitaka Otake) has been entrusted with research and analysis of trends in asking rent for residential rental condominiums and apartments that have been registered and published for consumers on the real estate information network of At Home Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Ota-ku, Tokyo; President: Yasushi Tsurumori), a real estate information service provider.

The average asking rent for condominiums exceeded the same month of the previous year in all eight areas: Tokyo 23 wards, lower Tokyo, Kanagawa prefecture, Saitama prefecture, Chiba prefecture, Nagoya city, Osaka city, and Fukuoka city.
Condominiums for couples exceeded the same month of the previous year in all 10 areas for the 7th consecutive month and for the 6th consecutive month for families. Above all, the four areas of Tokyo 23 Wards, Sendai City, Osaka City, and Fukuoka City have renewed their highest values since January 2015 for both types.
Apartments for couples increased year-on-year in 8 areas excluding Sapporo and Nagoya, and for families in 9 areas excluding Sapporo. In the two areas of Tokyo and Saitama Prefecture, both types have renewed their highest values since January 2015.

◆Definition
・In this survey, “rent” is defined as “rent + management fee, common service fee, etc.” paid by the resident per month.
・In the comments, 30 square meters or less is “suitable for singles”, 30 to 50 square meters or less is “suitable for couples”, 50 to 70 square meters or less is “suitable for families”, and over 70 square meters is “suitable for large families”.
・The average rent index in this survey is January 2015 = 100. ・Increase rate is rounded to the second decimal place. The Top 3 Lifters table is based on unrounded figures.
