“Fujisan Zero Garbage Action” is a project launched in May 2019 to solve the garbage problem facing Mt. Fuji. Led by Mt. Fuji guides, 14 local eco-tour operators, and NPOs, we are continuously conducting cleanup activities around Mt. During the Obon holiday period when climbers are concentrated, garbage such as food and drink is conspicuous on the trail, and at the fifth station, cigarette butts and a large amount of food and drink garbage are left behind by tourists. A lot of garbage is thrown away along the national highway that goes around the foot of Mt.Fuji and along the mountain pass. PET bottles filled with urine are also littering along the roadside. Through the illustration exhibition, many people will learn about the garbage problem on Mt. Fuji, especially the littering of urine bottles (PET bottles containing urine). We aim to create an environment with zero waste.
