“OITA STEAM PLATFORM”, a program for high school students in Oita Prefecture to experience STEAM education, has started its 3rd year! Development of next-generation human resources aiming for advanced science and technology fields such as space, decarbonization, metaverse, etc.
The Oita Prefectural Board of Education has been implementing the STEAM education promotion project since 2021 with the aim of developing next-generation human resources who can play an active role in a wide range of advanced science and technology fields through industry-government-academia collaboration. This year will be the third year of the initiative, and the program includes the “STEAM Festa,” an event aimed at developing next-generation human resources through science and technology such as STEAM education and
space/decarbonization/metaverse, online lectures, and “STEAM Research Special Lectures” and “Symposium for High School Students on Space and Science”.

Through STEAM education and SDGs, the Oita Prefectural Board of Education promotes the development of next-generation human resources who can play an active role in a wide range of advanced science and technology fields. This project will build a system that can develop the thinking and creativity of high school students in the prefecture by “forming a human network” and “providing a place for learning (STEAM education)” through industry-government-academia collaboration. STEAM education is a new educational model that cultivates the ability to solve the problems of modern society. Based on the concept of developing Asia’s first Oita Airport as a space port, the Oita Prefectural Board of Education aims to develop next-generation human resources who can play an active role globally from a cross-sectoral perspective through STEAM education and SDGs ahead of the rest of the country. increase.
This year’s theme is “Begin with Creation.” The world is changing rapidly. Both Japan and Oita are changing rapidly. Explore, think, and create.
