The Faculty of Agriculture at National University Corporation Okayama University (Headquarters: Kita Ward, Okayama City; President: Yasutomo Nasu) will hold an open lecture “Let’s Experience the Charms of Yeast” twice from September 9th to September 10th, 2023 at the Faculty of Agriculture Building No. 3 on the Tsushima Campus of the university. High school students, high school teachers inside and outside Okayama Prefecture, and general citizens interested in high school science (chemistry and biology). We are especially looking forward to the participation of those who are interested in “yeast”.

Yeast is a useful microorganism that plays an important role in brewing and the production of fermented foods, and is also a model organism that contributes to the development of basic biology. In this course, you will learn about useful microorganisms and the attractiveness of yeast as a model organism through lectures and practical training.

High school students, high school teachers inside and outside Okayama Prefecture, and general citizens interested in high school science (chemistry and biology). Especially those who are interested in “yeast”.
Junior high school students and younger cannot participate due to the operation of the experiment.
