National University Corporation Okayama University (Headquarters: Kita-ku, Okayama City, President: Yasutomo Nasu) is supporting the digital transformation (hereinafter referred to as DX) of small and medium-sized enterprises in the prefecture. For the purpose of training, 11 companies such as companies and support organizations in Okayama Prefecture collaborated to launch “DX Sunrise Okayama” (DXSUN).
At DXSUN, the participating member companies and support organizations each have their own strengths, and will provide custom-made DX support through industry-academia-government-finance collaboration with an emphasis on “creating new value.” At the same time, we will develop digital human resources by developing a reskilling system that fits the actual situation of companies at Okayama University. Through these activities, we aim to support the DX of small and medium-sized enterprises in the prefecture and create value across industries. 1. Background of the launch
Okayama Prefecture has a higher concentration of manufacturing industries such as petroleum, steel, chemicals, and transportation machinery than the national average, and traditional local
manufacturing industries such as textiles and clothing, rubber, ceramics, and agricultural machinery manufacturing. supports the local economy. On the other hand, for manufacturing companies in the prefecture, the lack of resources and digital human resources is a major hurdle for DX, and there is an urgent need to develop digital human resources through reskilling and provide skills and know-how from external support organizations.
In order to solve these problems, we launched DXSUN, which provides one-stop support from DX consultation reception to implementation. DXSUN aims to contribute to the improvement of the competitiveness of companies in Okayama Prefecture and the development of the economy and industry by promoting the creation of new value and the resolution of social issues faced by companies and local communities.
2. support
At DXSUN, the participating member companies and support organizations have their own strengths, and they hold seminars that are useful for promoting DX, accept DX consultations for individual companies, and provide escort support, promoting information sharing and planning solutions.・ We provide one-stop support for execution, and strongly support the promotion of DX by companies in Okayama Prefecture. As the first step of the initiative, we will use the FY2020 “Small and Medium Enterprise Regional Economic Policy Promotion Project Cost Subsidy (Regional DX Promotion Environment Improvement Project)” adopted in July this year, for several companies in Okayama
Prefecture. We plan to provide escort support.
