This time, with an eye toward the opening of TAKANAWA GATEWAY CITY at the end of 2024, we are recruiting for the themes of “Creating a city where you can feel the excitement of next-generation shopping” and “Creating the world’s most well-being city.”
In addition, as an initiative for the previous theme of this program, “Creating a city where creators shine,” we collaborated with foriio Inc., which has strengths in the creator economy (Note 1), to create “Takanawa VISIONS,” where you can experience digital art in both real and virtual ways. Starts from September 25, 2023. In “Takanawa VISIONS”, 10 creators will sell digital art depicting the scenery of Takanawa on the NFT marketplace “αU market”. Furthermore, the top four works with the highest sales until October 18, 2023 will be exhibited inside the ticket gates of Takanawa Gateway Station.

■Overview of “TAKANAWA GATEWAY CITY” town development
JR East is promoting the development of “TAKANAWA GATEWAY CITY” as part of the Shinagawa Development Project (Phase I). Inheriting the historical background that played a role as the gateway to Edo and the memory of innovation in the area where Japan’s first railway ran, the development concept is “Global Gateway,” and we are striving for a “spiritually enriching lifestyle 100 years from now.” We aim to become a city where new culture and business continue to be born as a “testing ground for the future.”
Complex Building I, which includes MICE facilities, offices, commercial facilities, etc., and the area around Takanawa Gateway Station will open at the end of 2024 (March 2025), and other buildings (Complex Building II, Cultural Creation Building, and Residential Building) and each building will open. KDDI launched “KDDI ∞ Labo” in 2011 as the first incubation program for a domestic operating company, and 2021 marks its 10th anniversary.
