Skeet now supports Solana Compressed NFTs (cNFTs). 1 billion NFT collections can now be issued at low cost.
Skeet, an open source serverless app development tool, has announced support for Solana Compressed NFT (cNFT), a new technology in the Web3 and blockchain fields.
……
NFT technology is attracting attention as a digital asset, but blockchain fees will also be correspondingly large for large-scale NFT collections. It was not realistic to publish all profiles as NFTs. The Solana chain is relatively cheap by default, but it still costs 0.012 SOL for one Mint, which means that a collection of 10,000 NFTs costs 350,000 yen, and creating 1 billion NFTs costs 35 billion yen. It was not practical to handle large NFT collections.
Therefore, a new method of creating NFTs called Compressed NFTs (cNFTs) was developed. With cNFT, it is possible to issue an NFT collection at a realistic cost: approximately 10,290 yen (34 times cheaper) for 10,000 NFT collections, and approximately 1.47 million yen (24,000 times cheaper) for 1 billion pieces. ELSOUL LABO B.V. (Headquarters: Amsterdam, Netherlands) announced that its open source serverless application development tool Skeet now supports Solana Compressed NFT (cNFT), a new technology in the Web3 and blockchain fields.
NFT technology is attracting attention as a digital asset, but blockchain fees will also be correspondingly large for large-scale NFT collections. It was not realistic to publish all profiles as NFTs. What is Solana Compressed NFT (cNFT)?
Solana Compressed NFTs (cNFTs) are NFTs that are efficiently managed using data structures such as Merkle Trees to reduce the amount of data while ensuring its authenticity.
The Solana chain is relatively cheap by default, but it still costs 0.012 SOL for one Mint NFT (calculated at 35 yen: 1 SOL=20 dollars, 1 dollar 147 yen), but it scales linearly, so 10,000 NFTs A collection would cost 350,000 yen, and making 1 billion NFTs would require 35 billion yen, making it impractical to handle a large-scale NFT collection.
Therefore, a new method of creating NFTs called Compressed NFTs (cNFTs) was developed. With cNFT, you can issue an NFT collection at a realistic cost: approximately 10,290 yen (34x) for a collection of 10,000 NFTs, and approximately 1.47 million yen (24,000x) for 1 billion pieces. .

Skeet incorporates technology from two of Solana’s signature protocols, Metaplex and Helius.
Metaplex is Solana’s NFT protocol and has established token standards. We provide umi, a framework for handling NFTs and Solana transactions, as well as a tool called Bubblegum for issuing cNFTs.
Helius provides Solana’s high-performance RPC and the Digital Asset Standard (DAS) API required to use cNFTs.
Skeet leverages these technologies to make Solana Compressed NFTs (cNFTs) available to developers right away.
The article below explains how to actually issue cNFTs using Skeet. https://zenn.dev/ki4themecha2q/articles/7dcb9753783a23

Skeet is an open source TypeScript serverless framework that allows you to build full-stack apps on GCP (Google Cloud) and Firebase. With Skeet, you can develop everything from API servers to web, iOS, and Android apps with TypeScript at lightning speed. We actively adopt technologies that have a good reputation for developer experience, such as GraphQL and Firestore. It is a modern application framework that allows you to easily develop applications that utilize AI such as ChatGPT and Vertex AI, as well as Web3 dApp development that utilizes blockchain such as Solana.
You can try the demo from the link below. You can try PaLM2, Vertex AI, and Open AI’s ChatGPT (GPT-3.5, GPT-4) at the same time, so you can compare and consider which features have which.

Additionally, you can run this demo app on your own PC or cloud environment in 5 minutes using Skeet CLI.
First, you can get an idea of what you can do with the demo, and then you can start developing apps right away using Skeet CLI. Skeet CLI is also equipped with AI, and with powerful support such as code generation via chat, it greatly improves developer productivity. Skeet CLI (GitHub): https://github.com/elsoul/skeet-cli
Skeet was developed as open source to reduce development and maintenance costs and improve the developer experience for all application development sites around the world.
Please see the official documentation for details.
