The first INWA World Cup held in Japan at Iizuna Higashi Kogen was originally scheduled for the fall of 2019. Just as course preparations and tournament preparations were completed, a large and extremely powerful typhoon No. 19 approached Nagano Prefecture. The typhoon continued to weaken, and three days ago we made the heart-breaking decision to cancel the tournament.
The following year, in 2020, the new coronavirus became a global pandemic. To prevent infection, we have been forced to refrain from holding events for the time being.
And in 2023. The long-awaited Japan’s first “INWA World Cup” will finally be held on September 24th (Sunday).
A course designed by local residents, local businesses, and the government has become a sacred place for Nordic walking!

It all started when the owner of a local pension thought there was a sport that would be good for the body and take advantage of the nature of the Iizuna Higashi Kogen and discovered “Nordic Walking.” When we invited people involved to actually walk the course, they found it highly rated as having just the right amount of ups and downs and going through a grove of trees, making it enjoyable while taking a forest bath. Based on this evaluation, local residents, local businesses, and the government worked together to develop the course. In 2012, the first JNFA-approved “Shinshu/Lake Reisenji Nordic Walking Course” was born.
Nowadays, Iizuna Higashi Kogen is called the sacred place for Nordic walking and is loved by many fans.
You can use the course anytime during the green season! Rental poles are also available at “Tengu no Yakata”

The “Shinshu/Lake Reisenji Nordic Walking Course” can be enjoyed freely even on days other than the tournament, and we also offer pole rentals and experience events.
