issue+design (NPO Issue Plus Design, Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo), in
collaboration with Yamato City, Kanagawa Prefecture, has created the “How to Navigate a Dementia World for Supporters” (Yamato City version of Dementia Supporter Training Course). ” has been developed. “How to Travel in a World with Dementia for Supporters” is a blockbuster book that has sold 200,000 copies, and utilizes the content of “How to Travel in a World with Dementia”, which has been made into a series on NHK E-TV, to create a nationwide caravan. These are various teaching materials and licenses that meet the requirements of the “Dementia Supporter Training Course” set by the Mate Liaison Council, and allow citizens to enjoy learning “the perspective of people living with dementia.”
By purchasing this teaching material and license, anyone from local governments, medical care and welfare-related facilities, and private companies across the country can operate various courses including dementia supporter training courses and step-up courses. By using slides (Power Point), worksheets, card kits, and booklets, you will be able to hold an event where all participants can enjoy learning about dementia.

The kit includes the following five items that can be used in dementia supporter training courses, etc.

1. Management slides: A set of slide data that meets the requirements of the “Dementia Supporter Training Course”
This is a 90-minute management slide (PowerPoint and PDF format) that can be used in courses. The slides include the content of
“Understanding Dementia (1),” which is a required item in the dementia supporter training course curriculum.

The programs offered include work to infer what kind of cognitive impairment is behind the words and actions of people with dementia. The content allows participants to have fun while learning about the nature of dementia and how to interact with people with dementia. Worksheets (provided as data) and work cards (5 sets provided) that can be used during the work. Although it is possible to run the event without cards and with only worksheets, we recommend using cards as this increases the entertainment value and encourages positive participation from participants.

As part of the kit, a booklet to help participants understand the perspective of people living with dementia is included. It can be used in various courses as a teaching material to help you understand the content of the course more deeply.
