When asked in Q1, “What happened to your child’s English skills as a result of attending an English conversation school or cram school?”, the answer was that in Tottori Prefecture, they did not feel that their English skills had clearly improved as a result of attending an English conversation school or cram school. I found out that there are a certain number of people who feel this way. Specifically, 19.2% to 23.3% of people felt that they had “improved” in their English speaking, writing, reading, and listening skills, while those who felt that they had “improved not much” or “didn’t improve at all.” The total number of respondents was 8.2% to 15.1%. In particular, for “English speaking ability,” the total of 15.1% answered “I didn’t improve much” or “I didn’t improve at all.” Furthermore, if we include those who answered “neutral” regarding each skill, the percentage ranged from 26.0% to 35.6%, indicating that there are a certain number of people who do not feel any clear effects.

When we asked the question in Q2, “Please tell us your impression of English classes at schools and cram schools.”, we found that many people in Tottori Prefecture do not feel that classes at schools and English cram schools are fully effective. For each item, less than 21% answered “I strongly agree,” and only 13.7% answered “I can improve my English speaking ability (I can speak with native pronunciation).” Furthermore, only a limited number of people felt that their English writing ability would improve and their English reading ability would improve, with only 15.1% and 16.4%, respectively, saying they “strongly agreed.” These results suggest that there may be challenges in providing instruction tailored to the level of English classes and individual students. Furthermore, the percentage of people who answered “Neither”, “I don’t really agree”, or “I don’t agree at all” ranged from 21.9% to 45.2% for each item, meaning those who did not have a clear effect or a good impression. It can be confirmed that there are many

Next, 24 people were interested in “a program premised on developing international standard English proficiency,” and 21 people were interested in “class formation according to the level of students’ English proficiency.” On the other hand, there were slightly fewer people who were interested in “being able to use it as a home school or after school” and “being able to obtain an overseas degree (IGCSE, A-Level)” with 12 and 11 respondents respectively. did. These results indicate that many people place importance on developing practical English skills and providing instruction tailored to individual needs.

I am. Additionally, 12.7% said they were interested. We can see that many people are showing a certain interest in schools with these characteristics.

For those who answered “I want to take the course,” “I want to take the course if the price is low,” or “I’m interested” in Q4, they were asked in Q5, “I think it would be okay to take the English education service provided in Q4, up to the monthly cost.” When asked, 70.0% of respondents felt that less than 20,000 yen was appropriate. 10.0% answered 20,000 yen or more but less than 30,000 yen, and 7.5% answered 30,000 yen or more but less than 40,000 yen. In contrast, only a small number of respondents thought of spending more than 40,000 yen, with 2.5% spending more than 40,000 yen but less than 50,000 yen, and 7.5% spending more than 50,000 yen. As a result, it became clear that many people in Tottori Prefecture wanted a price range of less than 30,000 yen.
Although it varies depending on the course content and the quality of the instructor, the average price for English conversation schools is around 2,000 yen to 6,000 yen per lesson, and the monthly fee is around 8,000 yen to 24,000 yen, so the results are reasonable. I can say it.
However, the number of lessons and the length of each lesson vary depending on the English conversation school, so it is important to check not only the monthly fee, but also how much the tuition fee is per hour.
