Mr. Nelson, who is popular for his cheerful personality, comes from a poor family in Malaysia.
I spent my childhood worrying about what I would even eat that day, but at the age of 18, I came to Japan by myself, a place I had had a strong desire to visit since I was a child, without knowing a single word of Japanese.
After studying hard, he was accepted into Hokkaido University’s Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences one year later. After graduating, he was unable to give up on his dream of becoming a doctor and entered the Osaka University School of Medicine, successfully passing the exam.
While building his career as an obstetrician and gynecologist, he began to feel strong resentment towards Japan’s medical system, and ran for the House of Councilors election without any connections. Unfortunately, he was unsuccessful, but with his passion, he received over 100,000 votes.
I had quit the hospital where I worked as an obstetrician and gynecologist in order to run for election, but I received an offer from someone who had been impressed by my campaign and asked me if I would like to run my own hospital. As a result, he opened the Kisaki Clinic, which continues to operate today.
