At that time, his eldest son, Tadayuki, inherited the main domain and left his will to give Akizuki to his third son, Nagaoki, and Takatori to his fourth son, Takamasa, and the Akizuki and Torenji domains were established.
The era of the Sengoku period had already passed, and Takatori Castle was an inconvenient mountain castle and the castle grounds were small, so senior vassals patrolled the neighborhood and established the center of the branch domain in the current Nogata urban area, which was then called “Torenji Village.” I decided to put . The year 2023 marks the 400th anniversary of the establishment of the Akizuki and Torenji domains.
Akizuki was a castle town of the Akizuki clan even before the Kuroda clan entered the city, but the foundation of the Nogata city area was formed with the establishment of the Torenji domain.
The Asakura City Akizuki Museum and the Nogata City Board of Education co-hosted this event with the Kyushu National Museum, and on this occasion, two branch domains of the Fukuoka domain, the Akizuki domain and the Torenji domain (later the Nogata domain), were established in Chikuzen. A panel project will be held at the entrance hall of the Kyushu National Museum in order to let as many people as possible know about the existence of two feudal clans and how the culture of that era has been passed down to this day, and to provide them with lifelong learning. .
