◆Summary Using data published on the Okayama Prefecture website (*), we will analyze the infection situation and medical care delivery system in Okayama Prefecture with the support of Okayama University and Okayama University Hospital. This is being carried out by family volunteers (analysis updates are scheduled to be done once a week). In addition, it is expressed in an easy-to-understand manner with reference to the Tokyo Metropolitan Government’s “Analysis and general comments on the latest monitoring items.” The pandemic of the new coronavirus infection (COVID-19) has been declared over by the WHO, and normal life is returning to normal in our country. We continue to provide information in the hope that it will be helpful for infection prevention measures in daily life. The number of patients reported per sentinel has increased slightly to 15.30. Clusters continue to occur at medical institutions and facilities. There are also reports of class closures at elementary, middle, and high schools. Although movement and gatherings of people have calmed down for a while, the number of infected people remains high both nationwide and in Okayama.
There is no change in the characteristic of the virus that elderly people are more likely to become seriously ill. There are also people who develop symptoms after contracting the disease. It is important to keep in mind not to go out when feeling unwell, to avoid infecting the elderly and those with underlying health conditions, and to use masks appropriately depending on the situation.

In Okayama Prefecture as a whole, the medical care provision system is stable, but we are seeing hospitalizations in beds other than those for which we have reserved beds, and medical care is becoming strained for reasons other than the new coronavirus, which continues to have an impact on regular medical care.
