The Japanese national team includes new captain Kazuki Himeno, who is also very active in Super Rugby and specializes in jackals, and vice captain Nagare, who has been leading Japanese rugby together with captain Himeno since their days at Teikyo University.Although he is young, he leads the team with his play. Players of note such as Shota Fukui and Deans Warner, who are currently playing in the league, have been selected. Japan will play in the qualifying pool, Pool D, against Chile, who is appearing in the World Cup for the first time, England, the last runner-up, Samoa, a World Cup regular, and Argentina, a strong forward. It’s been four years since the Japan Tournament, where we achieved our long-cherished desire to advance to the top eight for the first time in history, and the entire country was excited and moved. Please enjoy the new history and moving moments from the French tournament on Player!

Tournament outlook
The Rugby World Cup is one of the world’s three major tournaments, held once every four years. This time it will be held in France. The tournament will begin with the opening match between France and New Zealand on September 9th at 4:15am (Japan time), and will continue until October 29th, with each country competing fiercely to claim the championship trophy. Twenty countries will participate, and they will be divided into four groups (pools) of five teams each to play a round-robin match, with the top two teams advancing to the final tournament based on their pool match results. The favorites to win are South Africa, who won last year’s tournament, as well as France, the host country, Ireland, ranked number one in the world, and, needless to say, New Zealand. It will be interesting to see if the Japanese national team, which impressed all of Japan by advancing to the top 8 for the first time in team history, will make further progress in the last tournament! This tournament puts the pride and will of each country at stake. It will be interesting to see which country will emerge victorious from the heated competition and win the Rugby World Cup, which everyone wants to win.

“Bring sports diversity to this world.” Player! is a platform where anyone can create their favorite sport, support it, and get excited about it. Over the past 50 years, the sports industry has developed through the trinity of mass sports, mass media, and mass sponsors. Sports with few fans cannot withstand national broadcasting, lack mass media coverage, lack mass sponsors, and gradually become minor sports. It was during the Showa and Heisei eras that a large disparity arose between mass sports and minor sports. Is softball really a minor sport for the hard-working softball players and their mothers who support them? Player! proposes a lifestyle that includes “my sports” rather than “mass sports.” It’s like finding a city you like, living there, falling in love with it, and contributing to making it more fun. As for sports, it would be fun if you could find your own favorite sport, fall in love with that sport, and contribute to making that sport more popular. Player! creates a world where everyone can create their favorite sport, support it, and have fun. Bringing sports diversity to this world.
