(https://jafmate.co.jp/), is aimed at people in their 20s and above from all over Japan. We conducted a survey among people asking, “What kind of reviews about nail salons do you refer to?”

When we conducted a survey to find out what kind of reviews people take into consideration about nail salons, the number one answer was “finishing.”
We will also introduce other items in ranking format.

The second place was followed by “technical ability” and “politeness of customer service,” followed by “ease of access,” “waiting time,” and “in-store environment” which came in fifth place.
1st place: Finish
・Whether it’s cheap or bad, you’ll end up disappointed with your nails. With the finished image in hand, select the good points and check whether the design matches your tastes. (Female in her 20s) ・In order to check the cleanliness of the finish, etc., I carefully look at the photo reviews posted and judge the quality of the work. (Female in her 50s and up)
・Since you use a nail salon because you want to leave it to the professionals, the reproducibility of the design and the resistance to peeling are especially important for gel nails. (Female in her 30s) 1st place is “Finish”.
When going to a nail salon, many people want to read reviews to see if the nails will come out beautifully and won’t peel off easily. 2nd place: Technical ability
・If you don’t have the technical skills, you won’t be able to create a trendy design, or your design will stick to the trends of a few years ago. (Female in her 20s)
・Depending on the salon, there are some problems, such as the design being drastically different from what you requested, or nails being applied immediately after the treatment, so I think the technical ability of the staff is especially important. (Female in her 20s) ・The person who had the treatment done because of the low price was probably a newbie who had the nail layer thinned considerably and it was quite hot and painful when it hardened, so I can’t feel safe unless the technique is good. There were many opinions that emphasized technical ability, such as whether they could create a trendy design or finish a product without causing any problems.
3rd place: Politeness of response
・It would be nice if we could have fun chatting while they work, and if you’re going to keep coming back, it’s better if the nail technician has a nice personality. (Female in her 30s)
・Since I’m an amateur, I don’t think there’s much of a difference in the quality of workmanship or technique. More than that, it’s important to me that I feel comfortable during my time at the nail salon, so I try to read reviews to see how polite the customer service is. (Female in her 30s)
・I’m also concerned about speed, but I would like to return to a shop that listens to my requests and responds courteously. (Female in her 40s)
4th place: Low price
・I don’t think you’ll get a bad result at a nail salon unless you choose a particular place. So I’m looking for a salon that I can go to without any hesitation, with an emphasis on low prices. (Female in her 30s)
・I chose it because I don’t think there’s much of a difference when it comes to nails, so I think the cheaper one is better (female in her 30s)
・I don’t think one-time nails will last for several months, so I think it’s easier to continue going to the salon if the one-time fee is low. (Female in her 40s)
5th place: Ease of access
・One nail treatment takes about two hours, so since I have small children and want to go home as soon as possible, I prioritize ease of access. (Female in her 30s)
・I go to a nail salon once or twice a month, so I can’t go there if it’s far from home. Choose a salon near your home by comparing prices and results. (Female in her 30s)
“Ease of access” was ranked 5th.
There are many people who commute when they don’t have time, and many people place importance on how easy it is to get there.
5th place: waiting time
・I have children, so I’m concerned about waiting times. I’m glad that the waiting time is short because I can’t leave my child there when it’s a long time. (Female in her 30s)
・To be honest, I don’t really read reviews because I’m an accompanying person, but I sometimes check them while I’m waiting. I have regretted it many times, especially if I should have checked the wait time before going, so I have been checking it ever since. (Male in his 20s) “Waiting time” was also ranked 5th.
It’s best to arrive as early as possible.
5th place: Store environment
・Since the treatment time will inevitably be long, I am concerned about the comfort of the store. Check to see if you can relax. (Female in her 30s)
・I want to go to a store that has an atmosphere that is as comfortable and free from a feeling of confinement as possible, so in addition to the price and customer service, I place the most importance on things like the atmosphere inside the store and the location. (Female in her 40s)
“In-store environment” was also ranked 5th.
If you’re going to pay money to have your nails done, it’s best to have a comfortable environment.
summary
When we surveyed 100 people, 39.0% of them answered “finished”. Many respondents also said that they wanted a treatment that would not peel off, and that if they were going to go to the trouble of hiring a professional, they would want them to get a nice finish.
It turns out that many people go to nail salons to get their nails done beautifully.
