Asil Partners Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo, Representative: Masashi Yamazaki), which operates Snell Golf Japan, will start selling Snell Golf’s new golf ball MTB PRIME from Monday, May 15, 2023. MTB PRIME X is now on sale.
In the past, prices were higher than those in the United States because they were mainly sold at golf shops, but in order to provide general golfers with high-quality golf balls at reasonable prices, we have changed our sales method to D2C (Direct to Consumer). We have switched to online direct sales.
As a result, we were able to sell one dozen (12 pieces) for 5,500 yen (tax included). Furthermore, if you purchase 2 dozen or more in one order, we will give you a discount of 220 yen for each additional dozen. When purchasing 5 dozen, the price will be 4,620 yen (tax included) per dozen. Now available for sale at approximately 2/3 the price of tour balls from major manufacturers.
Sold only at online store
Snell Golf released its previous models MTB BLACK and MTB X in 2019. MTB stands for My Tour Ball. It clearly expresses Snell Golf’s mission: “Providing high-quality golf balls at reasonable prices to general golfers.”
However, due to the global pandemic of the new coronavirus, Surlyn, the material used for golf ball covers, became almost impossible to obtain, and we were unable to produce golf balls for a year and a half.
That period was spent on research and development. Finally, we have overcome the material shortage and are now able to deliver MTB PRIME, the successor to MTB BLACK, and MTB PRIME X, the successor to MTB X, to golfers. Both are tour balls with 3-piece urethane covers.

The cost of golf ball materials is also rising. Snell Golf’s mission cannot be achieved by doing things the same way as before.
Therefore, we reconsidered our cost structure. In Japan, the products were mainly sold in golf shops, so the prices were higher than in the United States. By switching to D2C (Direct to Consumer), we were able to set prices at roughly the same level as in the United States, excluding the 10% consumption tax. Specifically, one dozen is 5,500 yen (tax included).
You can purchase from Snell Golf Japan’s official online store, Amazon, and Yahoo! Only Snell Golf Japan stores are available within the store. This will be the first attempt to sell golf balls exclusively through D2C in Japan.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause to customers who would like to view the product at the store before purchasing, but this is the only way to sell high-quality tour balls at a reduced price in this era of price hikes. I hope you understand.

Both MTB PRIME and MTB PRIME X will be sold for 5,500 yen (tax included) per dozen. We will pay shipping costs (excluding Okinawa Prefecture).
Furthermore, if you purchase 2 dozen or more at the official online store, we have introduced a special pricing system where you will receive a discount of 220 yen for each additional dozen purchased. If you buy one dozen, it costs 5,500 yen (tax included), but if you buy two dozen, you get a discount of 220 yen each, making it 5,280 yen (tax included) per dozen. If you purchase 3 dozen, you will receive a discount of 440 yen each, making each dozen 5,060 yen (tax included). If you purchase 4 dozen, you will receive a discount of 660 yen, making each dozen 4,840 yen (tax included). If you purchase 5 dozen, you will receive a discount of 880 yen, making each dozen 4,620 yen (tax included).

However, this discount is only available at the official online store. Amazon, Yahoo! Stores have to pay sales commissions to each company, so they have a different pricing structure.
The difference in performance between MTB PRIME and MTB PRIME X becomes clearer MTB PRIME and MTB PRIME X are successor models to MTB BLACK and MTB Therefore, this work clarifies the difference in performance. MTB PRIME has a soft feel and high spin. MTB PRIME X has a clicky feel and low spin rate. The distance performance of the drivers is the same, but MTB PRIME has a low trajectory and MTB PRIME X has a high trajectory.

MTB PRIME uses a pattern that appears to have a soft feel, while MTB PRIME X uses a pattern that appears to have a hard feel. MTB PRIME is finished in a color that looks soft, while MTB PRIME X is finished in a color that looks a little harder.

As of September 2023, it will be available in one color, white, but a yellow ball is also scheduled to be released in early 2024. We hope that by offering two colors, we will be able to meet the needs of even more golfers.
