This is the 38th tournament (the 2020 and 2021 tournaments were canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic), and 76 athletes from 15 transportation-related companies (including affiliated companies) of the Ryobi Group participated. The Ryobi Group aims to be the safest transportation company in Japan, with a strong sense of safety that “safety comes first.”

Truck/Forklift Division

In the combined truck and forklift competition, participants will be judged on how drivers and lift operators respond to problems that occur, drawing on their practical experience.

In the practical competition, we conducted “acute angle driving,” a difficult task that can only be done when obtaining a Class 2 driver’s license. In the hospitality competition, participants will be judged on their customer service and hospitality based on the nature of their duties in two categories: route bus and charter bus.

When it comes to safe driving, we make sure that we are driving with safety first, focusing on checking actions and basic operations, and when it comes to customer service, we make sure that we provide hospitality that is in line with our management philosophy of “loyalty”, such as when greeting customers and when greeting them inside the train. We examine whether we are able to provide a full range of services.

In customer service role-playing, participants compete on their customer service skills by simulating a real-life scene inside a guest room. In the practical competition, a course line is determined on a nautical chart from the set departure and arrival points, and the voyage distance and time required are determined.
Maintenance department

Based on the fact that the number of wheel-falling accidents on large vehicles due to insufficient inspection and maintenance or maintenance errors is increasing nationwide, the competition was decided to focus on changing tires on large buses.
Administrative department

In line with the theme of the contest, “Easy Driving, Easy Words, Easy Customer Service, Hospitality,” each athlete had five minutes to present based on their own presentation theme. The content, impact, speaking style, posture, etc. will be judged.
Railway department
Divided into railway and track sections, practical and academic competitions were held respectively.
Practical skills competitions are held in advance, and the railway section conducts a test to assess what to do in the event of a breakdown or emergency, while the track section conducts a driving test in a commercial vehicle to assess driving skills and customer service attitude.
