Carenin Short Films is the third short film produced as a spin-off project of the movie “Carenin” series in collaboration with the National Elderly Welfare Facility Council (National Elderly Welfare Association), one of Japan’s largest elderly welfare organizations. This work, which is the third installment of “Carenin Short Films”, deals with multiple appeal themes that lead to securing caregiving personnel, and also includes multiple episodes of winning essays from the “Nursing Care Essay/Photo Contest” sponsored by the National Elderly Care Association. It is compiled into a book story.
The main character will be Akana Ikeda, who will be appearing in the first and second movies, and the project, script, and production will be Hideyuki Yamakuni of the movie “Care-nin” series and “Orange Lamp”, and the theme song will be from the movie “Care-nin”. This is a new song written by Hiromitsu Kagawa, who has been in charge of the theme song for the series. The director is Takehiro Shindo, who has directed BS-NHK’s “Lion’s Snack” (21) and the movie “Kaigandori Nekomimi Detective” (22).

After its theatrical release in 2017, the movie “Carenin ~ It’s Good for You”, which stars a new care worker as the main character, became a hot topic through word of mouth, and the number of citizen screenings expanded, mainly in local governments, schools, and nursing care facilities. In 2020, the sequel “Carenin ~ Flowers Blooming in the Heart~”, which is set in a special nursing home, was released, and to date, more than 3,000 screenings have been held in the series, and the number continues to grow.

In 2021, “Carenin Short Films” produced the first film as a spin-off project of the “Carenin” series after receiving an offer from the National Elderly Care Association for the purpose of improving the image of nursing care workers and securing human resources. The production of the second edition, and now the third edition, has been realized.
This third installment deals with multiple issues faced by the nursing care industry, such as promoting to the middle class and elementary and junior high school students who are potential caregivers, improving the image of foreign human resources, and explaining the types of facilities. It has been created into a single entertainment piece, including several episodes from winning essays from the Nursing Care Essay/Photo Contest sponsored by .
Additionally, previously we have presented several short videos of approximately 3 minutes each, but this time, for the first time in the series, we have produced one short film of approximately 20 minutes. For the first time, a theme song and end credits will be included, allowing you to immerse yourself in the afterglow of the work along with the winning entries in the photo category of the “Nursing Care Essay/Photo Contest.”
