Born in Tokyo in 1962. “Atashinchi”, which depicts the daily life of one’s own family as a model, was serialized in the Sunday edition of the Yomiuri Shimbun (1996-2012), later made into a TV animation (2002-2009, 2015-2016), and a movie ( 2003 and 2010). In 1996, won the 42nd Bunshun Manga Award. “Atashinchi” has been translated and published in Korean and Chinese (traditional), and the anime series has been aired in South Korea, Taiwan, and Hong Kong, and is extremely popular. In December 2019, the magazine “AERA” (Asahi Shimbun Publishing) resumed serialization of “Atashinchi” for the first time in seven years.
