Implemented food support expansion project with 39 food banks nationwide ~Aiming to provide support to 40,000 families in need, the largest ever~ ……
The National Food Bank Promotion Council*1 (Location: Toshima-ku, Tokyo, Representative Director: Hiroaki Yoneyama), a nationwide network organization of domestic food bank organizations, is working with 39 member food banks to suspend school lunches during the winter vacation period. We will provide intensive food assistance to needy households with children, including middle schoolers, from December to January next year.
Due to the effects of soaring prices, there is an increase in the need for social support for food banks, and the problem of social loneliness and isolation is becoming more serious. We have set a target number of supported households of 40,000 households, the largest ever, and have decided to hold the 6th Food Bank for Children. We will implement the “National Support Project” and expand food assistance to needy households with children nationwide.
