The movie “Maestro: Music and Love” was created by the composer, who also composed the music for the Broadway musical “West Side Story,” as well as many other musicals such as “On the Town,” and the movie “Wharf.” Leonard Bernstein is known for his 16-time Grammy Award winning career and music director of the New York Philharmonic from 1959 to 1969. This is the work I mainly drew. The original soundtrack will be released by Deutsche Grammophon.
Actor Bradley Cooper plays the role of Leonard Bernstein. Cooper, who made his spectacular directorial debut in 2018 with the movie “A Star Is Born,” not only directed and co-wrote the film, but also worked as a producer alongside Martin Scorsese and Steven Spielberg.
The London Symphony Orchestra, led by up-and-coming young conductor Yannick Nézet-Séguin, will perform the original soundtrack of Cooper’s own selections. It covers the essential repertoire that tells the story of Bernstein’s life, from his early works such as the ballet “Fancy Free” to well-known works such as “West Side Story.” Masu. Also included are “Mahler: Symphony No. 2” and “Beethoven: Symphony No. 8,” which Cooper performs in the film, as well as rare recordings by the New York Philharmonic and the Vienna Philharmonic conducted by Bernstein. “Maestro: Music and Love” will be distributed exclusively on Netflix from December 20th. A theatrical release has also been decided, and it has been announced that it will be shown at movie theaters nationwide from Friday, December 8th.
Additionally, a two-disc best-of album “The Maestro ~Leonard Bernstein Best,” which includes Leonard Bernstein’s masterpieces that should be passed down, will also be released today (12/1).
