Fine Today Holdings Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director and CEO: Tetsuro Komori; hereinafter referred to as “FTHD”) is a subsidiary of Shiseido Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Shiseido”), as per the press release dated August 1, 2022. We are pleased to announce that we have acquired Shiseido Vietnam Inc. (hereinafter “SVI”), a wholly owned subsidiary that operates a factory in Vietnam, as of December 1, 2023.

Background of acquisition
Our company took over the personal care business from Shiseido and started business in July 2021, with the goal of “to help everyone around the world create a wonderful day and live a beautiful and rich life forever.” Our company’s raison d’être) is the starting point for management. Since our founding, we have built a business system that integrates technology development, production, and sales, and as an autonomous manufacturer, we have aimed to flexibly provide a variety of products that meet the market needs of each region.
To achieve the above, the Company and Shiseido have entered into a transfer agreement for Shiseido’s production business of personal care products, etc., effective August 1, 2022 *1. Based on the agreement, on April 1, 2023, Shiseido will acquire the production business of personal care products, etc. operated at the Kuki Factory in Saitama Prefecture, and operate it as “Fine Today Industries Co., Ltd.” (hereinafter “FTI”). We have started *2.
With this acquisition of SVI, the Fine Today Group will be able to complete the establishment of an integrated system for technological development, production, and sales. This will enable us to more flexibly and quickly provide consumers in Asia with daily beauty products that help them live a beautiful and fulfilling life based on purpose.

Our group aims to become a role model for glocal companies in Asia, and is developing business in Japan, China, and APAC (Asia Pacific region). Going forward, in order to accelerate balanced growth in this business area, we will establish a bipolar production system that leverages the locations and strengths of SVI and FTI, with the aim of leveraging synergies. Furthermore, under the Fine Today Group’s integrated system of technology development, production, and sales, we will pursue business growth with sustainability in mind through integrated supply chain optimization.
Additionally, SVI obtained “Halal certification” in 2012 and also manufactures products that have received this certification. We will also promote the provision of localized products by carefully responding to the needs and climate of each region in APAC.

SVI’s history so far
SVI began operations at Shiseido in 2009 as a production base for the Japanese and Asian markets. We carry out strict manufacturing and quality control, and mainly produce personal care products such as SENKA (products exclusively for the APAC region) and uno.
We are also working on environmentally friendly operations and obtained ISO14001 (international standard for environmental management systems) certification in 2011.
