The “SDGs Exploration AWARDS” has been held since 2019 as a venue for junior high school, high school, and students to present their exploration activities on the theme of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The event will be held again this year with the support of many people, including the United Nations Information Center and the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology. Our company has cooperated with the management since the first time, and this is the fifth time. To celebrate the 5th anniversary, we plan to have students from Mukogawa Women’s University participate in the management.
We are looking forward to receiving many entries for the memorable 5th SDGs Exploration AWARDS.
■What is “SDGs Exploration AWARDS”?
The SDGs Exploration AWARDS was created by Mirai, a general
incorporated association, with the desire to create a place where young people, who will be responsible for the future, can view the world’s problems as their own, and think about and express the actions they can take towards a sustainable society. This is a contest for junior high and high school students, launched by the Education Promotion Organization. This year marks the 5th anniversary of the event, which has received a great response from various organizations including those in the educational field.

In junior high and high schools, inquiry learning based on the SDGs is currently being carried out through comprehensive inquiry periods. Universities are also conducting various educational activities regarding the SDGs. The SDGs Inquiry AWARDS is increasingly being used as a venue to present such learning results, such as “I set the award entry as a goal for the “Comprehensive Exploration Time” class” and “Publishing my daily learning results widely.” We have received many comments such as “I used it as a place to do things,” and “I entered as part of a seminar initiative.”
