Akiko Ozawa (46), a singer affiliated with Nippon Columbia Co., Ltd., held a concert commemorating her 30th anniversary since her debut at the Koga Masao Music Museum Keyaki Hall on Saturday, December 2nd. Ozawa made his debut in 1993 with the single “Kekiteyo” and has steadily gained recognition as a singer, releasing 27 singles to date and winning the Recording Industry Association of Japan Gold Single Award in 1995. It’s here. The 30th Anniversary Concert on this day featured a stage composition with 30 songs to commemorate the 30th anniversary. When Ozawa appeared on stage, the crowd of over 200 fans cheered loudly, shouting “Akko-chan!” and the voltage was high from the beginning. In addition to original songs, they sang plenty of covers such as “Hosenka” (original: Chiyoko Shimakura) and Geisha Waltz (original: Kagurazaka Hanko). Guest singers Toshiya Tsumabuki and Kazuko Wakasugi participated, and Rena graced the stage with her dance. During the 30 songs, Ozawa entertained the fans by changing costumes five times, including dresses, kimonos, and geisha outfits. At the end of the stage, Michito Goda, who was in charge of composing the new song “Kaze Koishi”, participated on the piano. The event ended on a high note with him singing “Iihi Tabidachi” (original by Momoe Yamaguchi) and “Kaze Koishi.”

Comment from Ozawa: “The 30th anniversary is a milestone for me, but I wanted to use this stage as a turning point to convey my gratitude. It has a different weight than the 25th anniversary. There were songs like this on today’s stage as well. I’d be happy if people rediscovered what it was like to sing. There’s not much to do with a volume like this (30 songs), so it was a precious day.”

(When asked about her recent activities in a geisha costume for her new song “Kazekoishi”) “I never thought about singing in a geisha costume, but the response from foreign people has been amazing.” I went to Los Angeles and Las Vegas in October (of this year) after receiving inquiries from people overseas who saw me dressed as a geisha on social media.I have performed overseas several times before, but I don’t wear a geisha costume. It was very refreshing for me to sing.I was happy that so many local people were happy.I will try my hand at Japanese dance and shamisen, but I plan to deepen my knowledge of the world of Japanese performing arts and hope to explore Asia someday. I would also like to go to Africa and collaborate with ethnic instruments,” he said with a smile.
