Gwen Bristowe and Bruce Manning
Bristow (1903-1980) and Manning (1902-1965) were a married couple. The book he wrote while working as a newspaper reporter in New Orleans was a success, and he went on to publish mystery novels. When this book was made into a stage play and a movie, Manning was invited to Hollywood and the couple moved there. After that, Manning worked as a screenwriter and Bristowe worked as a historical novelist.
