objective-specific IP landscapes – What can be understood by each department and can be used for management and business decisions,” which has been held multiple times in the past and had a cumulative total of over 1,500 participants.

In recent years, it has become essential to formulate management strategies from a multifaceted perspective in order to respond to social changes, including the coronavirus pandemic and the promotion of sustainability and ESG (environment, society, governance). As a means of achieving this, IP Landscape (hereinafter referred to as IPL), which utilizes intellectual property information in management strategies, is attracting attention.
IPL is different from the conventional “defensive use of intellectual property” and is used as a “offensive use of intellectual property” that analyzes the intellectual property of one’s own company/other companies as the main information source and utilizes it for management and business strategies. It is promoted by each company because it is effective.
However, according to a study by the Japan Patent Office, while about 80% of companies are aware of IPL in the intellectual property field, only about 10% of companies say they are actually making use of it. How can IPL be used in practice, and how can departments other than intellectual property understand its usefulness? Many corporate intellectual property departments and personnel feel that this is an issue.
In this webinar, we will focus on ESG/sustainability, governance, and CGC, focusing on intangible asset We will understand the method of relative visualization and explain the use of intellectual property linked to business strategies to increase corporate value from an investor’s perspective.
