, the oldest Hakata-ori textile manufacturer, to create the ornaments, and was responsible for the interior decoration of guest rooms, the partitions of ``The Bar,'' and the artwork for the Japanese restaurant ``Genju.'' Using the scraps and threads left over from the production of Hakata-ori, craftsmen hand-stitched each item to create a total of four types of silk ornaments, including fir trees and Christmas boots. Hakata-ori fabric has a larger number of warp threads than fabrics from other regions, is strong and tight, and has been used for kimono sashes because of its tightness, which does not loosen once tightened. One of the ornaments has a design inspired by obi decorations, and uses the ``Dokkogara'' fabric, a pattern that is representative of Hakata-ori and has the meaning of warding off evil spirits. The Christmas tree will be displayed in the space in front of the cafe ``DIVA'' on the 18th floor of the hotel until the night of December 25th, with the hope of ``passing on the wonderful traditional culture that Fukuoka is proud of to the future.''
