We are pleased to announce the winter festival season of L’Hotel du Lac, an auberge on the shores of Lake Okuwa in the Hubei region of Shiga Prefecture / SOWER, a Hubei cuisine restaurant led by Chef Coleman Griffin.
After the autumn leaves of the 500 Metasequoia trees that line the Metasequoia Avenue turn into beautiful colors, the quiet and beautiful winter of Oku-Biwa Lake transforms into a fantastic snowy landscape overlooking Chikubu Island floating in the lake. Enjoy a quiet winter stay on this lakeside property with easy access to ski resorts and Hokuriku.

Collaboration with Shiga Prefecture craft mead “ANTELOPE”
Original mead limited sale
In collaboration with Shiga Prefecture’s first craft mead (honey wine) brewery in Japan, ANTELOPE, we have released a limited edition original craft mead, “Mexican Marigold.”
Craft mead is a mead made from fermented honey. As the name “SOWER”, which means “to sow”, this collaboration was born out of the synergy between the next generation of people working on a project to sow new seeds in Shiga Prefecture. This is limited edition mead.
Mexican marigolds blooming in SOWER’s garden are picked early in the morning and fermented using only the new shoots. The sparkling mead, which is suitable for a welcome drink, is brewed with pears from a farm in Shiga Prefecture to maintain its dryness and express its softness.
