3 elementary schools in Matsue City participate! “Marine Raku School,” a zero-marine garbage class to think about the marine environment, was held at Micro Shell Beach.

The Sea and Japan Project in Shimane, a general incorporated association, collaborates with Professor Ichiro Matsumoto of the Faculty of Education, Shimane University, Yuji Shoko, a certified geoguide at the Shimane Peninsula and Lake Shinji Nakaumi Geopark, and the Matsue City Environment and Energy Division to teach zero marine litter classes. A “Raku School by the Sea” event was held, with approximately 60 participants from three elementary schools in Matsue City. This event was held as part of the Marine and Japan Project – CHANGE FOR THE BLUE, a marine litter countermeasure project promoted by the Nippon Foundation.
