In the early 1960s, the American watchmaker BENRUS produced
military-spec watches issued to the U.S. military during the Vietnam War. Benrus was the first contractor awarded the U.S. military’s MIL-3818B combat watch contract.

This time, we have produced the masterpiece “DTU-2A/P” model, which was supplied to the U.S. ARMY for the first time in several years and is coveted by enthusiasts, based on the materials at the time (MIL-3818B).
This reprint model is a faithful reproduction. We have reproduced every detail such as the case size, carvings, sharp lines, dial font, and plastic windshield. The original was mechanical, but the reissue model uses a Swiss quartz movement, making it lightweight and easy to wear. Not only is it suitable for those who like military items, but it is also a fashion item that can be easily incorporated into everyday coordination, making it a watch that can be used by a variety of people.
The American field watch of that time is said to be one of the best entrances to the world of military watches. We have created a model that inherits that design.
The BENRUS 3061 that was on the market at the time was different from the military model; the 3061 had a second hand with a red arrow tip, a polished case, and a Benrus logo on the case back instead of the military stamp code.

about BENRUS
BENRUS was founded in New York in 1921 by Benjamin Lazrus and two brothers. The name Benrath became known to the world during the Vietnam War, when it became a government supplier as a manufacturer of military watches. Riding the wave of rapid economic recovery and demand expansion after World War II, some manufacturers were struggling to procure machinery, but thanks to our strong connections with Swiss manufacturers, which we have continued to use since the beginning of Benras, We will absorb this demand at once and achieve rapid growth. At one point, its momentum was such that it became one of the three major manufacturers in America.
From the 1960s to the 1970s, we manufactured watches for the US Army as military watches used in the Vietnam War.
In the early 1960s, it became the only brand to meet the standards of the MIL-W-3818B contract to manufacture field watches for soldiers, and from 1964 to the late 1960s, it produced military DTU-2A (MIL-W-3818) field watches. was manufactured. After that, in response to the MIL-W-46374 contract requirements, we began manufacturing military watches made of plastic that is easy to dispose of. Subsequently, the U.S. military awarded Benrus military contract MIL-W-50717 to design and manufacture a new diving watch specifically for covert operations. Benrus designed TYPE I and TYPE II in response to the needs of the US military, and produced them from around 1972 to 1980. TYPE I became the most rugged watch ever made during the Vietnam War, serving UDTs (Underwater Destruction Task Forces), Navy SEALs, CIA agents, and special operatives in deep-sea diving and special forces operations. It is said to have become one of the best US military diving watches.
The Type II model was manufactured in conjunction with the Type I and featured a 12/24 hour dial that was more suitable for soldiers and operators in the field.
