Special feature background and family care thoughts
This project began with one member asking, “Is there anything we can do to commemorate Disabled Persons Week in the form of family care for families raising children with disabilities or illnesses?” Disability Week begins on December 3rd, the United Nations Day of Persons with Disabilities, and ends on December 9th, Day of Persons with
Disabilities, with the aim of promoting understanding of people with disabilities and their social participation. is.
Families who raise children with illnesses or disabilities are not the same parents who raise children with illnesses or disabilities from the beginning. Today, I continue to raise children through various experiences such as discovering my child’s illness or disability, learning through daily life, and learning to accept disabilities. Parenting a child with a disease or disability is a sudden change. If you have to raise a child with a disease or disability, Famicare is run by a team of families who want to be a parenting tool and safety net for those people.
We hope that through the Disability Week 2023 special feature, not only those who are raising children with illnesses and disabilities, but also those who feel that raising children with illnesses, disabilities, and children are “extraordinary” will learn about “disabilities”.
Additionally, if you come across a family in your area who is raising a child with a disease or disability, we would be happy if you could introduce them to Family Care.
Comment from Haruka Kashiwagi, project initiator, Family Care Content Team [Image 5
We planned this event to coincide with Disability Week, when disabilities are attracting more attention than usual, and we wanted people to know that children with illnesses and disabilities and their families are living positive lives even when things are difficult. I don’t think there are many people who think that their child may be born with a disease or disability before their child is born. However, anyone can become a parent of a child with a disease or disability. That’s why I wanted people to see how families with illnesses and disabilities spend their days happily, happily, and positively. However, there are many daily problems that arise from having a disease or disability. Among the anecdotes submitted, we received many stories from families about their own troubles and what they would like the world to be like. I hope that this special feature will help as many people as possible to deepen their understanding of children with illnesses and disabilities.

About Family Care
Famicare is a service brand based on the concept of “Enjoying every day for children with illnesses and disabilities!” Have fun solving problems faced by children with illnesses or disabilities and their families! It was created with the aim of creating as many moments as possible when you feel that way.
Each person has a different disease or disability, but due to the characteristics of each disease or disability, there are few products and services that match their needs, making it easy for people to feel inconvenienced. Family Care solves these inconveniences by combining online and offline services, including the IT field. Operated by families raising children with disabilities or illnesses, Famicare connects with many companies, organizations, and individuals in addition to information sites and consultation QA apps, and hopes to become a new channel in this field. That’s what I’m aiming for. Family care site: https://famicare.jp
