Activity details: We will implement measures that will enable many people, mainly children and young people, to become aware of Kagoshima Prefecture’s rich ocean and take various actions. Kagoshima Prefecture is surrounded by the East China Sea and the Pacific Ocean, with Kinko Bay containing Sakurajima inside. There are many remote islands, and as the gateway to the south since ancient times, there are many attractions such as unique sea culture, scenery, and food. On the other hand, we have not been able to pass on the charm of our local seas to younger generations, and as the environment changes, we have rediscovered the charms of our local seas both now and in the future. We will be able to pass on the importance and charm of the world to the next generation. In implementing the project, we will involve many local media, municipalities, and organizations in an effort to expand the movement.
