With the aim of widely disseminating the appeal of local specialty products from Shiranuka Town, Hokkaido to the world, the “Shirarica Brand” certifies specialty products from Shiranuka Town that have passed a strict examination as the “Shirarica Brand”. “Project Executive Committee” is a variation of the fresh raw salmon roe “Shirarica Ikura [Raw]”, which was certified as the first Shirarica brand in August 2023, and is a soy sauce pickled salmon roe carefully prepared using traditional methods. “Shirarika Ikura [Soy Sauce Pickled]” uses only fresh salmon roe from Hokkaido. We preserve the freshness of the highly rare and
“mysterious” raw salmon roe, “Shirarika Ikura [Raw],” and deliver it in its best condition by marinating it in a special soy sauce sauce selected specifically for salmon roe. Of course, it’s delicious if you eat it as is, but if you put it on top of rice and make it into a bowl of salmon roe, the white rice and soy sauce marinated salmon roe go perfectly together, and the taste is exquisite.
What is the Sirarica Brand Project?
The “Sirarica Brand Project Executive Committee” is comprised of Immu Co., Ltd. (Representative Director: Kohei Kuroda), playknot Co., Ltd. (Representative Directors: Takuma Motoyashiki/Kyohei Yamaguchi), Right Design Co., Ltd. (Representative Director: Takayuki Ogawa), and It was formed in August 2023 by Shiranuka Town with the aim of disseminating the appeal of local specialties of Shiranuka Town, Hokkaido to the world. The Shirarika brand, which takes its name from the Ainu word “Shirarika” (meaning the shores of rocky shores), which is the origin of the name Shiranuka Town, aims to let people around the world learn about and experience the various specialty products that exist in Shiranuka Town. This is a brand created for you. The Sirarica Brand Project Executive Committee will work with local producers and businesses to certify and review the “Sirarica Brand.” In addition, the executive committee will handle brand image strategy, logo design, package design, pamphlet production, advertising strategy,
communication strategy using SNS, etc.

The first item certified as the first Sirarica brand is the rare raw salmon roe “Shirarica Ikura [Raw]”. We started accepting hometown tax payments and EC sites in August 2023 and gained popularity with approximately 3,000 donations made within 3 months. This time, we will be adding a variation of “Shirarika Ikura [Soy Sauce Pickled]”, which is made by carefully marinating fresh raw salmon roe in soy sauce using a traditional method. “Shirarica Salmon Roe [Pickled in Soy Sauce]” is a masterpiece that is full of the climate and tradition unique to Shiranuka-cho, Hokkaido, and its quality and reliability are guaranteed by being certified as the Sirarica brand.

Shiranuka Town, located in the eastern part of Hokkaido, is in a perfect location where warm and cold currents off the Pacific coast meet, making it a rich fishing ground. Shirarika salmon roe – the secret of deliciousness
The most important thing that determines how delicious it is is freshness. The secret to the freshness of Shirarika salmon roe lies in the nature of Shiranuka Town and the techniques it has cultivated. ■Shiranuka’s location shortens transportation Shiranuka Town, Hokkaido faces the Pacific Ocean. Fish landed near the processing factory can be transported to the factory immediately. By shortening the transportation time, it is possible to maintain freshness, which is a necessary condition for deliciousness. ■ Consistent speedy processing from purchase We place emphasis on freshness of Shirarika salmon roe, which is purchased whole and processed in one factory. It takes 30 minutes from washing the eggs after collecting them to soaking them in soy sauce. What underpins the deliciousness is careful yet fast processing technology. Furthermore, Hokkaido salmon roe and salmon (trout) are purchased raw. You can feel the taste even more. ■Special processing system Generally, fresh water at a temperature of about 15 degrees is used in the egg washing process. On the other hand, when cleaning Silarica salmon roe, salt water at a temperature of 10 degrees or less is used. We pay particular attention to every aspect of cleaning and strive to maintain freshness. ■Nitrogen substitution packaging for long-lasting taste Oxidation leads to deterioration of taste, so oxygen is replaced with nitrogen in Ikura packaging. The expiration date is one year from processing. No preservatives are used. ■Advanced freezing technology Speed is also important when freezing salmon roe. The Shirarika salmon roe is flash frozen. There is less dripping when defrosting at home, resulting in a fresh and delicious product.

Shiranuka Town is a town located in eastern Hokkaido with a population of approximately 7,200 people. Blessed with rich nature, fishing, forestry, and dairy farming are all thriving.
