Recently, research has been progressing rapidly to uncover mysteries that have existed for thousands of years. Among the elements that make up us, hydrogen was created in the Big Bang, while carbon, oxygen, calcium, and iron were created in stars and dispersed into space when stars exploded as supernovae. On the other hand, recent observations of gravitational waves have revealed that gold, silver, platinum, and iodine are created through the merger of neutron stars, which are the remains of supernovae. Inflation is said to be the key to the formation of stars and galaxies from the first slight bumps in the universe, but the identity of the dark matter is unknown, and various investigations are underway.
