Summary of presentation:
We would like to express our sincere congratulations on the
establishment of Eco-LAB as one of the research and development platforms of the “Industry-Academia-Government Collaboration Council, a place for the accumulation and utilization of knowledge” promoted by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries. . We believe that this is an excellent initiative that aims to create a decarbonized local society from the agricultural sector, with many participants from JA, private companies, and financial institutions in each region. In addition, the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries formulated the Green Food System Strategy in May 2021, which is based on the concept of achieving both improved productivity and
sustainability in the food, agriculture, forestry and fisheries industries through innovation. I look forward to future activities that are consistent with this and will lead to the realization of this goal.

Summary of presentation:
At Bank of Mitsubishi UFJ, we have launched a cross-departmental project called “Food-X PT” as an initiative to resolve social issues in the food field, and one of its priority areas includes “pesticides, fertilizers, and biostimulants.” Masu. As issues surrounding agriculture in Japan include greenhouse gas emissions and the aging of farmers, the need for sustainable agriculture is increasing, and financial institutions are helping to resolve these issues. I think it is necessary. We believe that agricultural carbon credits are an effective means of solving this problem. There are three approaches to reducing greenhouse gases: “reducing chemical fertilizers,” “increasing carbon in the soil,” and “reducing methane emitted from the soil,” and Bank of Mitsubishi UFJ is working to create a framework for the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, manufacturers, and manufacturers. We would like to provide support while collaborating with the producers.
In particular, we believe that carbon credits are important in the field of wet rice cultivation, which has the greatest impact on Japanese agriculture. We believe that biostimulants using plant residues are a unique initiative that has the potential to solve multiple agricultural issues at the same time, and we would like to continue to support them.

We have introduced the goal of reducing this by %. Biostimulants are one of the means to achieve this goal, and we talked about the evaluation index of the action mechanism of biostimulants, which is patented by AGRI SMILE.
