Daiwa Institute of Research begins offering mainframe optimization solutions ~Proposing an option other than completely abandoning the mainframe that still remains~
……
Daiwa Institute of Research Co., Ltd. (President: Atsushi Mochizuki, Headquarters: Koto-ku, Tokyo, hereinafter referred to as “Daiwa Institute of Research”) feels that the promotion of DX is being hindered by the possession of mainframes, which are representative of legacy systems. We will begin providing our mainframe optimization solution to customers including insurance companies from December 5th. In the “DX Report” (*1) released by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry in 2018, approximately 80% of companies continue to have legacy systems, and approximately 70% answered that they are hindering DX. In this way, optimizing mainframes, which are representative of legacy systems, is one of the important elements in realizing DX for society and companies. However, making the mainframe open and moving to the cloud, which are often used as a means to achieve this, may not necessarily be the optimal solution from a cost and risk perspective. Careful consideration is especially necessary if you are dealing with a system that requires infrequent maintenance, is nearing end-of-use, or requires a very high level of stable operation and security. ■Service overview
This service is a mainframe optimization solution that takes into account not only openness and cloud migration, but also the continued use of mainframes. Daiwa Institute of Research provides one-stop support, from analyzing the current state of existing mainframes and formulating migration plans, to infrastructure renovation, system development, and system operation and maintenance.
Additionally, if you wish to continue using your mainframe, you can use our “Mainframe Shared Service,” which allows you to logically and virtually divide your mainframe into sections for shared use by multiple customers. It can also be used as a backup site, optimizing costs, providing robust security, and maintaining availability. [Image 1
