Netstars Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo, Representative Director, President and CEO: Gang Li, hereinafter referred to as “Netstars”) is a system that completes business-to-business (BtoB) billing and payment operations online by making it cashless. StarPay-Biz” will be available from December 6th. Until now, Netstars has mainly supported cashless payments between businesses and consumers (BtoC), but in the future, it will also realize DX of business operations by making cashless payments between businesses. While the cashless ratio in Japan as a whole will reach 36.0%*1 in 2022, the adoption of cashless payments by BtoB companies remains at 12.5%*2 in a 2021 survey, and bank transfers remain the mainstream for payments between businesses. Overseas, cashless payments between companies using credit cards are expanding, and credit management and billing/payment management are increasing human costs, especially for companies that frequently interact with overseas companies.
Furthermore, with the revised Electronic Bookkeeping Act, the start of the invoice system, and the spread of corporate card ownership, we expect that corporate billing and payment operations will become more online and paperless than ever before. In Japan, where the labor shortage is becoming more serious, there is a lot of room for improvement in corporate billing and payment operations, and it can be said that cashless/DX is necessary.

Netstars is developing gateways that connect payment brands and companies, centering on QR code payment services. “StarPay-Biz” is a solution that applies this mechanism and allows cashless payments using credit cards to be used for business-to-business payments through Netstars. The billing company (supplier) issues an invoice from a dedicated web management screen, and the company receiving the bill (buyer) can pay with a credit card from the web management screen. For suppliers, it is expected to reduce delays in payment, reduce accounts receivable risk, and relieve them from the task of clearing payment. Buyers can expect benefits such as being able to centrally manage payment operations by debiting the credit card company rather than each transaction partner, and being able to coordinate the timing of debits with the credit card company. In addition, both suppliers and buyers can respond to computerization, reducing labor and increasing efficiency.
Netstars has already launched a service (StarPay-Biz for Hotel) that supports VCN (virtual credit number) specialized for the hotel industry, but this time “StarPay-Biz” is not limited to the industry and is aimed at companies. We support a wide range of companies that want to implement DX by incorporating credit card payments into inter-payments.
