Rare resources are called industrial vitamins that are essential as raw materials for advanced materials. Although Japan is a country lacking in primary metal resources, it is rich in secondary resources called urban mines, and recycling and separating rare metals are important. In this course, after a brief introduction to metal resources, the lecturer will talk about the development of various separation agents such as macrocyclic compounds, tripod molecules, secondary amides, and adsorbents derived from biomass waste, as well as the recovery of valuable metals and harmful elements. I will introduce the results of the removal.
