Currently airing NHK TV drama series “Boogie Woogie”
In this, Ritsuko Ibarata (Rinko Kikuchi), who appears as the lifelong rival of the main character Suzuko Fukugita (Shuri), sings in the play.
It has been decided that a single CD containing “Farewell Blues” and “Rain Blues” will be released on January 24th next year.
The jacket photo was released today, and advance distribution of “Farewell Blues” has started prior to the CD release.
In addition to the drama that will keep your eyes peeled for the future, Ritsuko Ibarata (Rinko Kikuchi)’s gorgeous and melancholy singing voice.

What is “Farewell Blues”?
The original song “Farewell Blues” is sung by Noriko Awaya, who is also the model for Ritsuko Ibarata.
1937 Ryoichi Hattori was in charge of the music and Kou Fujiura wrote the poems, set in Honmoku, and is said to be Awaya’s masterpiece. Hattori heard Noriko Awaya’s singing voice of Damia’s “Dark Sunday” and asked her to sing, but there is an episode in which Awaya had difficulty with the low tones, which she had never sung before. Awatani’s subsequent release, “Ame no Blues,” also became a big hit, and she became known as the “Queen of Blues.”
