Lightblue, an AI startup from the University of Tokyo (Representative Director: Atomu Sonoda, Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, hereinafter referred to as “Lightblue”), is a joint venture between Shimizu Corporation (Representative Director and President: Kazuyuki Inoue, hereinafter referred to as “Shimizu Corporation”) and Nippon Road Group. Through joint development with ND Lease System Co., Ltd. (President and CEO: Naginori Murai, hereinafter referred to as “ND Lease System”), we have commercialized the vehicle-mounted safety monitoring camera system “Kingfisher” for heavy machinery. . At Lightblue, I am in charge of developing algorithms for object detection and skeleton estimation, which are the core of this system. It is now possible to overcome the limitations of conventional detection systems and completely cover the blind spots of heavy equipment operators. This system is registered with the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism’s New Technology Information System “NETIS.”

Lightblue is a startup company from the University of Tokyo that aims to democratize AI and develops solutions centered on image analysis and natural language processing AI.
