NHK Publishing will release Zaizen Naomi’s Living Saisai on December 6, 2023. Zaizen currently lives with his parents and son in his hometown of Oita. The long-awaited publication of the NHK program that follows the daily life of growing over 40 types of vegetables and fruits, harvesting and cooking them together, and enjoying the bounty of nature to the fullest. This is a scrapbook-like book that captures life in each season, with a focus on recipes illustrated by Mr. Zaizen’s hand-drawn illustrations.
All for “deliciousness”! The happy and positive days of the Zaizen family living in harmony with nature.

Naomi Zaizen is active in dramas and movies. As a mother of one child, I moved to my hometown of Oita where my parents live, thinking about my child’s education.I continue to work in Tokyo and live and raise my children in Oita. In Oita, there is a piece of land that has been passed down to the Zaizen family for generations, and with my parents growing over 40 types of vegetables and fruit trees, three generations of parents and children have been living a life of enjoying and enjoying the bounty of nature.
The father uses his years of experience to grow and harvest various ingredients, the mother cooks and preserves them deliciously, and Mr. Zaizen enjoys learning the secrets and techniques of these two and passing them on to his son. The son gradually gets used to working in the fields and learns the ropes. The program follows the process from cultivation and harvesting to cooking, and uses vivid images to convey the “tradition” that takes place within families.
This book uses seasonal ingredients and focuses on cooking recipes that Mr. Zaizen inherited from his mother (including some that were not introduced on the program!), and explains important points on how to preserve and prepare ingredients, using images from the program and Mr. Zaizen’s hand-drawn drawings. Zaizen Naomi
Born in Oita Prefecture. Debuted as an actor in 1985. He has appeared in numerous movies and dramas, ranging from serious works to comedies. His main appearances include the movie “Ten to Chito” (1999/Toei), the drama “Omizu no Hanamichi” (1999/Fuji Television), the drama “QUIZ” (2000/TBS), and the TV drama series “ Gochisousan” (2013/NHK), “Scarlet” (2019/NHK), Taiga drama “Onna Castle Lord Naotora” (2017/NHK), drama “Look at me, Mukai-kun” (2023/NTV) ), and many others. She is also scheduled to appear in the movie “Lake Women” and the taiga drama “Hikaru Kimi e,” which are scheduled to be released in 2024. His publications include “Naomi Kobo” (Takarajimasha) and “Create Your Own Thank You File” (Kobunsha). In 2007, he moved to his hometown of Oita Prefecture, where he lives with his father, mother, and son.
