“UNWIND HOTEL & BAR Otaru” considers hotels to be a place for transmitting culture and information, and is working to convey the charm of Hokkaido from a unique perspective. As part of this effort, in November of last year we established “UNWIND GALLERY”, which takes advantage of the fantastic space created by renovating a historic building into a modern style and exhibits works mainly by artists with ties to Hokkaido. The project is planned with a focus on contemporary art, using the keyword “classic contemporary” that describes our hotel, and has been featured in local media and fashion magazines.
This 6th exhibition is an exhibition by Mr. Chisato Shinya, a resident of Hokkaido who expresses the world of fantasy through illustrations with a Scandinavian style. Please enjoy the fantastic art experience created by our hotel, which beautifully blends history and modernity, and the brightly colored works that decorate snowy Otaru.

The theme of “Music Picture Book LOMP” is “Time to daydream”. The beginning of the picture book says, “Today, something will be born somewhere, and in order to receive the endless gifts that the soul can receive, on this planet, on that planet, and even tens of thousands of light years away…” Christmas, Valentine’s Day, and things. Profile of Mr. Chisato Shinya
Illustrator/based in Sapporo, active both domestically and
internationally. I use various techniques to draw creatures imagined from forests and clouds.
Store murals, confectionery packaging, goods design, CD jackets, T-shirt designs, picture book illustrations, workshops for children, etc. Overseas: Copenhagen/Hotel FOX room decoration.
Germany/Illustrations by Grimm and Andersen. In recent years, he has been creating the Shiraoi Mothers Plus entrance mural. Daimaru Sapporo 3F teppiART production. Last year, he published his first music picture book, “LOMP.”
