A “high school student hotel” is a hotel run entirely by high school students, which is rare in Japan. This “high school student hotel” started in 2019 in collaboration with “Hotel Kitano Plaza Rokkoso” (Chuo Ward, Kobe City), which is also a hotel of the public school mutual aid association, and students of “Kobe City Shinko Tachibana High School”. This year, 2023, will be the 5th time. The 5th “High School Student Hotel 2023” will be held for two days only from November 15th (Wednesday) to November 16th (Thursday). In addition, in the shop corner of Hotel Kitano Plaza Rokkoso, there is a “Student Marche” display of practical products devised by students from 11 Hyogo Prefectural schools. “Kobe City Shinko Tachibana High School”, which opened as a commercial high school in April 2016, treats “people” as “treasures” and is based on the concept of developing “human resources” that love and support Kobe together with the community. We engage in educational activities that cultivate students’ vocational outlook through research projects and internships. The “High School Students Hotel” is also part of this education, and has been held every year in collaboration with “Hotel Kitano Plaza Rokkoso,” which is also a hotel of the public school mutual aid association. “High School Student Hotel 2023” held this November is the 5th time. The training for “High School Student Hotel 2023” started in June 2023, about half a year before the opening month.

【Training content】
In June, when we held a hotel event for high school students, we had them learn about the history of Hotel Kitano Plaza Rokkosho and learn about the hotel’s etiquette and hospitality.
July: We toured Hotel Kitano Plaza Rokkoso and had students experience table manners, as well as work on high school hospitality and creating a dinner menu.
September: Started practical training at Hotel Kitano Plaza Rokkoso. I actually decided on my department and responsibilities.
October: We also added customer service training in a rented classroom at Kobe YMCA Gakuin Vocational School. The students spent 20 to 50 hours of practical training at Hotel Kitano Plaza Rokkoso, improving their knowledge and skills in the service industry.
In November, training continued at Hotel Kitano Plaza Rokkoso, and a final meeting was held just before the actual training.

In this 5th “High School Student Hotel 2023”, 38 second-year students from Shinko Tachibana High School, students in the Information Type System Utilization Course, and one current third-year student who had experience last year will work at the front desk, restaurant work, bed making, etc. I was actually in charge of hotel operations such as room cleaning and guest room operations. A customer who actually
experienced “High School Student Hotel 2023″, which was held for 2 days and 1 night, said, “I could see the hard work of the students, and being able to participate in the High School Student Hotel was a memorable experience, and it was a lot of fun.” Many people had a positive impression of the event, and we also heard from happy customers who said, “I want to participate again next year.” The outline of the 5th “High School Student Hotel 2023” is below. “Hotel Kitano Plaza Rokkoso” is also a public school mutual aid association hotel, so we fully cooperate with the “High School Student Hotel” as a place for practical study, and we also hold an exhibition of works by students from Hyogo Prefectural School in the lobby etc. I’ve been doing a lot of things.
The “Hyogo Prefectural Ono High School Art Club/Calligraphy Club Exhibition” is currently on display at the hotel lobby library until the end of January 2024. Anyone who visits Hotel Kitano Plaza Rokkoso is free to tour. Additionally, starting in the fall of 2022, Hyogo Prefectural School training products will be sold as a “Student Marche” in the souvenir corner. Currently, 11 schools are
