Kaisei Digital Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Toyohashi City, Aichi Prefecture, Representative: Hironori Sakai) will release to the general public the self-winding watch “AKATSUKI”, the first product from the “JUNZEN” micro brand of watches that pursues products made in Japan.
This product was completed in March 2023 after a project was implemented on support purchase site Makuake. Now that we have completed shipping to our supporting purchasers, we will now start general sales for everyone on our official website and dealers. In Japan, a self-winding watch that pursues Japanese-made parts can claim to be “Made in Japan” by “using a Japanese-made movement and assembling it in Japan.” The reality is that many watches that claim to be made in Japan have many parts made overseas. We believe that if things continue like this, Japan’s small and medium-sized watch industry will lose its vitality, so at JUNZEN AKATSUKI, we pursue domestic manufacturing of every single part, and with the cooperation of domestic parts manufacturers who support us, we We were able to use Japanese-made parts for over 98% (*converted to manufacturing cost) of the watch body (*excluding the belt).
Some of the assembly tools that come only with the assembly kit are products from Meikosha Seisakusho (Nagoya City/Kita-Nagoya City), a domestic manufacturer of watch tools used by professionals. We also use domestic products for our tool rolls (tool holders). Although it is an assembly kit, the parts are not simplified and the structure is the same as a regular mechanical watch. For those who are concerned about assembling their watches, we also offer finished products that are assembled by a watchmaker and delivered to you.
