Haverly’s Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture, Representative Director: Remi Yano, hereinafter referred to as Haverly’s) and JR West Japan Hotel Development Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture, Representative Director and President: Masafumi Ise, hereinafter referred to as JR West Hotels) ), 9 hotels of 3 brands of JR West Hotels have adopted natural water made from paper cartons in guest rooms. This is the first initiative in Japan for an entire hotel chain, and through this collaboration, both companies aim to contribute to a sustainable environmental society. This initiative was realized through the Kotono Musubi Project*1, a business matching event for lodging facilities and local companies sponsored by Kyoto City, where the two companies were matched and shared a common commitment to sustainability and environmental consideration.
As part of its SDGs initiatives, JR West Hotels will gradually introduce paper pack water with JR West Hotels’ original design at the following hotels from early December 2023*2. This initiative is expected to reduce CO2 emissions by 117 tons*3 annually across the entire hotel chain.
