From 13:30 on Saturday, December 9th, Professor Kenji Suzuki of the Department of Japanese and Japanese Literature, Faculty of Letters, and Professor Takeshi Oshima of the School Education Course, Faculty of Education, will be holding a talk event titled “Enjoying with the Five Senses” at the Academic Lounge of Kinokuniya Bookstore Shinjuku Main Store. “Kenji Miyazawa – Cooking, Music, Minerals, Yamanashi, Picture Books” will be held.
Among the various authors and works, why are Kenji Miyazawa’s works cited and re-created so much? We will explore picture books, manga, novels, music, and the re-creation of Kenji Miyazawa’s works across media. I will talk about the world as seen from

In conjunction with this event, the university’s Koshigaya Library will hold a special exhibition titled “Enjoying Kenji Miyazawa with all five senses”, supervised and in cooperation with Professor Kenji Suzuki and Professor Takeshi Oshima, from November 24th (Friday) to mid-January. It is being held.
Focusing on the valuable materials related to Kenji Miyazawa that the teachers own, we will learn about the kind of person Kenji Miyazawa was, his relationship with minerals, stones, and agriculture, the influence of Buddhism, the music he created, and his influence on modern culture. This is an exhibition where you can “enjoy” Kenji Miyazawa from a variety of perspectives, including Kenji’s works that have been well-received.
