overview
“Kaggle” is one of the world’s largest AI and machine learning communities with over 16 million registered machine learning engineers. Competitions are held on a daily basis in which organizers provide data and challenges, and participants compete to create the most efficient analysis method within a period of about three months. This time, the LayerX machine learning team was selected from among 1,925 teams and 2,514 participants in the “Child Mind Institute – Detect Sleep States” competition held on Kaggle to predict the timing of sleep onset and awakening from an accelerometer attached to the wrist. The team to which engineer Naoto Shimakoshi belongs won the championship. These results will allow researchers to conduct more reliable, large-scale sleep studies in different populations and settings.
LayerX has been introducing a self-study system since September 2023 that supports employees to participate in data analysis competitions held by platforms such as Kaggle and machine learning academic societies, and this time as well. It will be used. For more
